Ensilumenlatu - First cross-country ski trail of the season

The cross-country ski season in Jyväskylä is officially open. Made with snow from last winter that has been stored under a thick layer of sawdust, the trail will officially open on the 23rd of October.

  1. Those pictures remind me the view from our window this morning... Laajavuori trails might have been already opened indeed :)

  2. I was laughing like crazy when I looked out the window this morning and saw the snow. I had taken that photo and posted it the night before. This snow that we just got will probably be gone in a day or so. There were people skiing on the trail at Laajavuori this morning, quite a few actually.

thinking of this hurts my brain and makes me wonder, stored where? and just how thick was the sawdust?
